Maytag Front Load Washer Door Locked Blinking

Our maytag maxima steam washer has a flashing yellow light next to door locked the door won t open and the machined cannot be turned on.

The door lock led light will blink. The lid will lock and the machine will enter a pump out mode for 8 minutes. If it still won t work then unplug the washer and remove the screws coming in from the back of the top panel. It stopped right after it dispensed the detergent and i ve tried all of the not so helpful repair advise on the maytag website and i still can t get it unlocked.

Now you can reach down to the bottom of the door latch where there is a 1 round plastic tab. After 8 minutes the door will unlock. Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset. Run a drain and spin cycle.

This is all it will do. The door may immediately unlock. This washer has sensors that detect the water supply and requires both hoses to have water going to the water valve. Pull on this tab to manually unlock the door.

The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes. This happened when i forgot to turn the water on. The lid lock is a default feature of your maytag front loading and top loading washer to prevent opening the appliance while the cleaning cycle is in progress. Nothing else will appear to be happening with the machine during this time.

The door lock light is blinking on my front load maytag maxima. If it does not detect both water supply hoses are turned on the control detects a problem with the water pressure sensor. The top panel will then pull straight back up and off. The control will not accept any input during this time.

If the washer has an f8 e1 error or lo fl error the door will be locked and the control will be unresponsive. The door should unlock after 60 seconds. Press the power button and the washer will start a drain routine which takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes during which time the pump will run continuously. If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power.

Reconnect power to washer plug in. During this period you will be able to hear the pump running. Pausing the wash cycle is how it can be disabled.
